We're working closely with people in Haiti as well as in the Dominican Republic.

I was in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, when the 7.0 earthquake hit Haiti and changed its history forever. As calls began to come in from individuals and organizations asking me how they could help Haitians in the face of such overwhelming devastation, I realized that it would take much more than individual donations to help the families of the estimated 250,000 dead. As we work with the survivors of one of the greatest tragedies ever resulting from an earthquake: it will take our combine efforts to truly make a difference in the lives of so many Haitian earthquake survivors.

 

Haiti Relief ImpactLivesAs the President of ImpactLives, I would like to tell you about what we are doing to help the estimated 3 million Haitians affected by this tragedy. ImpactLives is distributing meals directly to Haitian victims of the devastating earthquake, through its affiliate organizations in Haiti and the Dominican Republic, where ImpactLives has been working for the last eight years. Recently, ImpactLives shipped over one million meals to various organizations to assist feeding centers, hospitals and schools in Haiti. Since the earthquake the number of people needing these meals has nearly tripled.

 

Furthermore, ImpactLives and Target partnered to pack and ship more than one million meals to feed Haitian earthquake victims. In addition to providing nourishing meals to Haitian earthquake survivors, ImpactLives is also raising funds for clean drinking water and medical supplies, as well as to replace critical medical equipment destroyed in the earthquake. ImpactLives continues to keep its activity focused on the crisis in Haiti, and is working closely with people in Haiti as well as in the Dominican Republic.
